Notably, the franchise's latest entry continues to up the ante on the live-service aspects as well, with AC Valhalla counting as the first installment to recieve a second year of post-launch support. The title bears a lot in common with its immediate predecessor AC Odyssey, given that it doubles down on Assassin's Creed's still-divisive RPG elements. Set in 9th Century England during the Viking Age, Assassin's Creed Valhalla allows players to assume the role of Eivor, a Viking warrior who leaves their home in Norway with a crew of fellow villagers looking to make a new life in what will one day become the United Kingdom.
